Shipping & Returns

Returns Policy

Many of the items you purchase from TheBenchStore.com can be returned for a refund (excluding shipping charges and a restocking fee) for up to 30 days after the date of shipment. All custom orders and other items indicated on the site are not returnable. A Return Authorization Number (RAN) must be obtained from Customer Service at 1-866-859-4880 for all returns or exchanges.

 

We will not accept any packages without a RAN. You must write the RAN on the outside of the package that you are sending back, or it will be refused. You are responsible for returning the product back within 15 days of receiving the RAN. On all returns, it may take up to 7 days from the date of receipt of the return shipment for us to process your refund. We will refund the money in the same way that you originally paid for the order (i.e., if you paid by credit card, you will receive a credit to that credit card).

 

Restocking fees range from 10% to 25% depending on the manufacturer. Skylights with factory installed blinds cannot be returned. Most items from Fakro cannot be returned. It is our policy not to accept any products back for credit or exchange unless they are unused, in resalable condition AND in the original packaging. This return policy is part of our Terms of Use, and in order to place an order with us you must have agreed to our Terms of Use, and so therefore have also agreed to these terms.


Shipping

We can ship to most addresses in the continental United States. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.

The Bench Store is not responsible for shipments that are delayed due to causes beyond our control or the control of our carriers, including, but not limited to the following: acts of God, riots, strikes or other labor disputes, air traffic control delays, disruptions in air or ground transportation networks due to events such as weather phenomena and natural disasters.

 

Shipping to Remote Areas

Be aware that remote or hard-to-reach areas may incur additional shipping fees, and this applies to free shipping as well as regular shipping orders. If your order is being shipped to a location with known shipping restrictions, a customer service representative will promptly contact you to notify you of any additional charges.

However, we don’t always know if your area is remote or will make freight delivery difficult. If you anticipate that a shipping company will have issues reaching your residence, it’s your responsibility to inform us of those issues at the time of purchase. Such problems include but are not limited to: narrow or winding roads, dirt or gravel roads, and vacant establishments. The Bench Store is not responsible for shipping costs on merchandise not delivered because of a shipping company's inability to reach a particular location. Additionally, in-home delivery is neither implied nor offered without additional charge, and isn’t necessarily available even if you’re willing to pay more for it.
